Getting started Accounts, signing in, and your first song.
How do I create an account? Open game-day-beats.com and choose Create account. You can sign up with an email address or with Google. No card is needed to start — a free account includes one player profile and your first song. Do I need to pay to try it? No. A free account includes one player profile, and your first song is free. You only pay when you want more players, more saved tracks or more generations. What do I actually get for free? One player profile and your first walk-up song. Browsing the app and listening to tracks your team has shared with you is included too. I signed up with email but want to use Google instead Sign in with Google using the same email address and the accounts line up. If you used a different address, contact support and we will merge them rather than leaving you with two libraries. I never got the sign-in email Check spam and promotions folders first, since the message is automated. If it is not there after a few minutes, request it again — the newest link is the one that works, older ones stop working once a new one is sent. The sign-in link says it expired Links are short-lived on purpose. Request a fresh one from the sign-in screen and use it straight away. If you opened the link on a different device than you requested it on, request it again on the device you want to use. I forgot my password Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen. You will get a reset link by email. If it does not arrive, check spam, then contact support. How do I change my password? Open Settings while signed in and change it there. If you cannot sign in at all, use the Forgot password link instead. Can I use the app on my phone? Yes. The app runs in a phone browser and is built for it — game day mode in particular is designed to be run one-handed from the bench. Is there an app in the App Store or Google Play? Not currently. The app runs in your phone browser. You can add it to your home screen from your browser menu so it opens like an app. How do I add it to my home screen? On iPhone, open the site in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to home screen. Which browsers work? Any current browser — Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox, on phone or desktop. If something looks wrong, updating the browser fixes most of it. Can two parents use the same account? You can, but the better way is a co-parent on the player profile. Each of you keeps your own sign-in and both of you can manage that athlete. How do I delete my account? Settings has a delete account option. It removes your profile, your players and your tracks. It cannot be undone, so download anything you want to keep first. What happens to my songs if I delete my account? They are deleted with it. Download the tracks you want to keep before you delete — each track has a download option in the library. Can I come back after deleting my account? You can sign up again with the same email, but the previous account and its tracks are gone. Deletion is final. Why am I being asked to accept house rules? The house rules cover what the app will and will not write into a song for a youth athlete. You accept them once, and they are linked at the bottom of every page. What is the very first thing I should do? Add a player profile with your athlete name, sport and jersey number, then describe them and generate their first song. That whole path is free. Forms and settings screens are a barrier when you are busy. The Assistant does it conversationally — add a player, make a track, check credits, no forms. Player profiles Adding athletes, sports, co-parents and claims.
How do I add a player? Open Players and choose Add. You give the athlete a name, a sport, and optionally a jersey number and a few words about their style. That profile is what every song for them is built from. How many players can I add? A free account includes one. Basic and Premium both include unlimited player profiles, which is what most families with more than one kid in sport need. Which sports can I choose? Thirteen: baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, football, hockey, lacrosse, tennis, golf, swimming, track and boxing. The sport shapes the song and the artwork on the track. My sport is not on the list Pick the closest one so the song still gets useful context, then say the real sport in the description. Tell support which sport you want and we will look at adding it. Can I change a player’s sport later? Yes, edit the profile and change the sport. Existing tracks keep the artwork they were made with; new songs use the new sport. Can one kid play two sports? Yes. The simplest way is one profile per sport, so each has its own songs and artwork. On a paid plan there is no limit on profiles. How do I change a player’s name? Edit the profile and change the name. Tracks already made keep the name that was sung into them, because the audio is already recorded. How do I delete a player? Open the player profile and delete it. Anything attached to that player goes with it, so download songs you want to keep first. What is a co-parent? A second adult on the same player profile. They sign in with their own account and can see and manage that athlete — useful for separated households or when one parent is at the game and the other is not. How do I add a co-parent? Open the player profile and add the co-parent by email. They need their own Game Day Beats account on that email address. How do I remove a co-parent? From the same place you added them, on the player profile. Removing them takes away their access to that athlete immediately. Does a co-parent use up my player allowance? A player counts once against the family that holds it, whether that is the parent who claimed it or a co-parent listed on it. It is not counted twice. What does claiming a player mean? A coach can set up a roster before parents join. Claiming is a parent saying "that one is mine", which attaches the athlete to their account so they can make songs for them. I claimed the wrong player The claim can be removed from the player profile, which frees that roster spot for the right family. If you cannot see the option, contact support and we will unpick it. Someone else claimed my kid Contact support. We can see who holds a claim and move it, and this is exactly the sort of thing we would rather fix quickly than leave. Can I move a player to another account? Not directly. The current holder removes the claim and the new parent claims the athlete, which keeps the trail clean about who holds what. What is the jersey number used for? It feeds the song and the announcer call — "number twelve" in an intro, and sometimes a line in the lyrics. It is optional. Do I have to use my kid’s real name? No. Plenty of families use a first name only, a nickname, or just the number. The song is built from whatever you put in. Should I put my kid’s full name in? We would suggest not. A first name or a nickname works just as well in a song, and the less identifying detail stored the better. How do I add a photo of my player? Edit the player profile and add one. It is optional, and it is only ever visible to you, a co-parent, and the team you share the profile with. Only the best players get a moment. Every player on the roster can have their own song, not just the ones who hit. Your kid plays a sport nobody makes anything for. Thirteen sports are covered, including swimming, track, golf and boxing, not just the big four. Your kid is in a sport with no tradition of walk-up music. Nothing stops you starting one. The app does not care whether the sport usually does it. Your kid wants to be known by a nickname, not their given name. Put the nickname in. The song is built from whatever you enter. Separated parents both want to manage the same athlete. Co-parents each keep their own sign-in and both manage that player. A grandparent wants to hear the song but is not on the team. Download the track and send them the file — the sharing decision stays with you. Your kid gets nothing to keep at the end of the season. The tracks are yours, downloadable, and keep playing long after the season ends. Making songs Describing a player, generating, lyrics and length.
How do I make a song? Open a player, choose to make a track, describe the feel you want in a sentence or two, and generate. It takes a few minutes, and there is trivia on the waiting screen while it works. How long does a song take to make? A few minutes in normal conditions. The waiting screen shows progress, and you can leave it — the track lands in your library when it is done. What should I write in the description? What the athlete is like and the feel you want. "Left-handed pitcher, quiet until he is on the mound, wants something heavy" gives the writer far more than "make it cool". Can I pick the genre? Yes — say it in the description. Rap, rock, country, EDM, hip-hop and metal all work. If you are not sure, Music Advisor will suggest a direction for that player. How long is a generated track? Up to three minutes. The generator accepts between ten seconds and three minutes, and a full-length track is the default — you then cut a walk-up clip out of it. Can I make a shorter song? Yes. Set a shorter length before generating, or generate full length and set a clip afterwards. Most families do the second, because it leaves the whole song intact. Is there a word limit on the lyrics? There is no character limit. What matters is whether the words fit the length of track you asked for — the app checks that the lyrics can actually be sung in the time available and tells you if they cannot. My lyrics are too long for the track Either shorten the words or lengthen the track. The app works out how long the words would take to sing and flags the mismatch before you spend a generation. Can I write the lyrics myself? You can put the lines you want into the description and they will be used as the basis. The house rules still apply to anything written for a youth athlete. The song does not mention my kid’s name Make sure the name is on the player profile, and say in the description that you want it sung. If it still comes back without it, regenerate — that usually fixes it. I do not like the song I got Generate another. Each generation is a fresh take, and tightening the description — naming a genre, a tempo, a mood — changes the result more than repeating the same words. Does regenerating cost another credit? Yes, each generation uses one. That is why it is worth putting a sentence of real detail into the description before you spend one. My song failed to generate If a generation fails, the credit is restored. If you were charged one and did not get a track, tell support and we will put it back. The generation is stuck Leave the page — generation continues on the server, and the track appears in your library when it finishes. If nothing arrives after fifteen minutes, contact support. Can I hear the song before it is finished? No. It is generated as a whole and arrives complete. The waiting screen shows progress and some trivia for the sport while you wait. What is the trivia on the waiting screen? Sport trivia to fill the wait. It keeps a queue per sport, so making several songs in a row does not repeat questions. It has no effect on the song. Can I make a song for the whole team? Yes — a team track rather than a player track. It is for the warmup, the dugout, or running out at the start, and sits in the shared library for everyone. Can I make a song that is not about sport? The app is built around a player profile and a sport, so a song will always sit in that world. Within that there is a lot of room for the feel you want. Will two kids ever get the same song? No. Each generation is new, written from that athlete profile and description. That is the point of the app. Can I use a real song I already own? No, and that is deliberate. The app writes original music, which is what lets a track be your kid’s alone and keeps it clear of other people’s rights. Does the song sound like a real band? It is original music generated for your athlete. It is written to sit in the genre you asked for, but it is not a copy of any particular artist. Can I ask for a specific artist’s sound? You can describe a style — "heavy southern rock", "trap with big bass" — and that steers it well. Naming an artist to imitate is not something we write to. Who owns the song? It is made for you to use for your athlete. It is original audio, not a licence to someone else’s recording, so there is nothing to clear to play it at a game. Can I play it at a school or league game? That is what it is for. Because it is original music made for you, there is no third-party recording to clear with the venue. Every kid on the team walks up to the same three chart songs. Each track is generated for one athlete from their name, sport and style, so no two players share one. Your kid wants a walk-up song but you have no idea what to pick. Music Advisor suggests directions matched to their sport, number and style, free of charge, before you spend a generation. The song your kid wants has lyrics you do not want played over a youth field. Songs are written clean for a youth audience, so you get the energy without the words you would have to apologise for. You do not own the music you would want to use. Nothing has to be owned or streamed. The track is generated for you. Your kid is shy and hates attention. You can keep it short and understated. A ten-second clip that fits them beats thirty seconds that does not. Your kid wants something heavier than you would choose. Describe the feel they want. The filters are about content, not genre, so heavy is fine. A sibling wants the same song as their older brother. Reuse the track on another player without spending a second generation. You want the song to actually say your kid’s name. The name on the player profile is written into the song, and into the announcer call if you use one. Last season’s song does not fit who they are now. Make a new one. Profiles persist season to season and tracks stack up as a record of each year. You want a song for the team, not just one player. Team tracks sit in the shared library for warmups, running out, or between innings. You have no musical ability and no idea where to start. You write a sentence describing your kid. That is the whole input. Your first attempt came back wrong and you do not know why. Tightening the description — naming a genre, a tempo, a mood — changes the result far more than repeating yourself. You want the words to carry the whole track, not peter out. The app works out whether your lyrics can actually be sung in the length you chose, and flags a mismatch before you spend a credit. Your kid plays two sports and wants a different feel for each. One profile per sport, each with its own songs and artwork. Waiting for a song to generate is dead time. The waiting screen runs sport trivia, queued per sport so repeat songs do not repeat questions. You do not want to sit watching a progress bar. Generation continues on the server. Leave the page and the track lands in your library. Song credits Monthly generations, credit packs and promo songs.
What is a song credit? One generation. Making a track uses one, whether you keep it or not, which is why a good description before you spend matters. How many generations do I get a month? Basic includes five a month and Premium includes twenty. The free tier includes your first song. When does my monthly allowance reset? At the start of each calendar month. Unused monthly generations do not roll over — bought credit packs are separate and do carry. I have run out of generations this month Buy a credit pack rather than waiting. Three credits are $2.99 and fifteen are $7.99, and both are valid for a year from purchase. Do credit packs expire? They are valid for one year from the date you buy them. The app shows the expiry date alongside your balance. Which gets used first, my monthly allowance or my credits? Your monthly allowance is used first, so bought credits are only drawn on once the month’s included generations are gone. Where do I see how many credits I have? On the generation screen and in your account. It shows monthly generations remaining and any credit pack balance with its expiry. What is a promo song? A free credit granted to early members on their first sign-in. It behaves like any other credit once it is on your account. My promo credit did not appear It is granted on the first signed-in session and the server is the source of truth. If it has not landed, contact support and we will check and grant it. I was charged a credit but got no song Failed generations return the credit automatically. If one did not come back, tell support and we will restore it. Can I give credits to another parent? Credits are not transferable between accounts. The referral programme is the way to put free credits in another family’s hands. Do credits carry over if I change plan? Bought credit packs stay on your account through a plan change. Monthly included generations follow whichever plan you are on at the time. My coach gave me a free song Coaches can pass a short free track to a family. It shows in your balance alongside your own credits and is used the same way. What is the cheapest way to get more songs? The fifteen-credit pack at $7.99 is the lowest cost per song. If you want several a month every month, a Premium plan at $9.99 with twenty included is usually better value than packs. Editing a track Clips, speed sections, cover art and downloads.
What is a walk-up clip? The short slice of the track that actually plays at the game. A track with no clip set plays from its intro start to the end of the file, which is usually longer than you want at the plate. How do I set the clip? Open the track and use the clip editor. You drag the start and end, and the minus and plus buttons nudge in fixed steps so you can land on the exact beat. How long should a walk-up clip be? Most leagues give a batter somewhere between ten and thirty seconds. Check your league rule, then cut to just under it so you are never the one holding the game up. What is the shortest clip I can set? There is a minimum so a clip is not cut to nothing. The editor will not let you go below it, and the minus button stops there. My clip starts in the wrong place Move the start in the clip editor. It is the single most useful edit on the whole track — getting the drop to land as your kid reaches the box is the difference between fine and great. Can I change the clip after I set it? Yes, as many times as you like. Setting a clip does not alter the underlying track, so nothing is lost by trying a different cut. What is a speed section? One stretch of the clip played faster or slower than the rest. It is how you make a run-up build, or stretch a line out for effect. How do I add a speed section? From the track editor. You set where it starts and ends in the same seconds the clip editor uses, and choose how much faster or slower it runs. Does a speed section change the pitch? No. It is time-stretched rather than simply sped up, so the track keeps its pitch and does not go chipmunky. Can I have more than one speed section? One per clip. In practice a single well-placed change does more than several, which tend to fight each other. How do I remove a speed section? Clear it in the track editor and the clip plays at its normal speed throughout. Can I download my song? Yes. Each track has a download option in the library, and the file carries its title and artist tags so it lands tidily in your music app. What format is the download? A standard audio file that plays anywhere — your phone, a laptop, a PA system, or a USB stick handed to whoever runs the booth. Can I download the whole team’s songs at once? Yes, there is an export that bundles a team’s walk-up tracks together, which is the quickest way to hand a sound booth everything in one go. Does the download include my clip or the full song? You get the track. Set your clip in the app for game-day playback, and if you need a pre-cut file for a sound booth, tell support what you need. Where does the cover art come from? It is generated for the track from the player’s sport, which is why a baseball track and a hockey track look different in your library. Can I change the cover art? The artwork follows the sport on the player profile. Change the sport and new tracks pick up the new artwork. How do I rename a track? Edit the track in the library and change the title. The title is what shows on the row and in the downloaded file. How do I delete a track? From the library, on the track itself. Download it first if there is any chance you will want it — deletion is immediate. I deleted a track by mistake Contact support quickly. We cannot promise recovery, but the sooner you ask the better the chance. Can I reuse a track for another player? There is a reuse option on the track, which is the quickest way to give a sibling the same sound without spending another generation. Can I move a song to a different player? Yes, there is a move option on the track. It is the right fix when a song was made under the wrong profile. Announcer intros Recorded calls, voices and walkout intros.
What is an announcer intro? A spoken call that plays before the music — "now batting, number twelve" — baked onto the front of the track so the two always arrive together. How do I add an announcer intro? Turn the announcer on when you make the track, or add one to an existing track from the voice announcer screen. Can I choose the exact words? Yes. You set the line that is spoken, so it can match whatever your league or your kid actually wants said. Can I hear it before committing? There is a preview, so you can listen to the call on its own before it is merged onto the track. Can I use my own voice? Yes. There is voice cloning for announcer calls, so the intro can be you, another parent, or whoever your team has decided is the voice. How do I set up my own announcer voice? From the voice announcer screen. You record a sample, and calls can then be generated in that voice. My track was supposed to have an announcer and does not The library flags that on the track itself and offers to add the call without charging you for the song again. Can I change the announcer words after the track is made? You can generate a new call and merge it. The old call is replaced on the front of the track. Does the announcer call count against my song credits? Announcer work is tracked separately from song generations. If something has been counted in a way that looks wrong, contact support and we will check it. Can I turn the announcer off? Yes. Make the track without it, or use a track that has none. Plenty of families prefer the music to start cold. What is a walkout intro? A saved intro your family uses across tracks, rather than a one-off call recorded for a single song. Can the announcer say the jersey number? Yes, and it will use the number on the player profile if you ask for it in the line. The announcer mispronounces our surname Spell it phonetically in the line — write it how it sounds rather than how it is spelled. That fixes most names in one go. Can I add crowd noise behind the announcer? The soundboard carries stadium sounds you can run alongside the track on game day, which is how most families get that effect. Your league has no announcer. A recorded call plays on the front of the track, so every player gets announced whether anyone is on the mic or not. The announcer always mangles your surname. You set the exact words, and spelling it phonetically fixes it permanently. You want the call in a voice the kids know. Voice cloning lets the intro be you, another parent, or whoever your team picked. The call and the music arrive separately and never line up. The call is merged onto the front of the track, so they always arrive together. You want to hear the call before it is committed to the track. There is a preview before anything is merged. A track was made with the announcer on but arrived without one. The library flags it on the track and offers to add the call without charging for the song again. Teams Rosters, join requests, shared libraries.
How do I create a team? From team settings. You name the team, and you then have a shared library every family on it can see. How do I invite parents to the team? Share the team’s join link. Parents request to join and you approve them, so nobody lands in the library without you knowing. How do I join a team? Use the link the coach or team manager sent you and request to join. Someone on the team approves it and the shared library appears for you. My join request has not been approved It is waiting with whoever runs the team. Nudge them — approvals are manual on purpose so a roster of children is never open to anyone with a link. How do I approve someone’s join request? Pending requests appear in team settings with approve and decline on each one. How do I remove someone from the team? From the team roster in team settings. They lose access to the shared library straight away. What is the team library? The shared shelf of tracks for that team. Every approved family sees it, which is how one person can run the whole lineup on game day. Why can I play another family’s song but not edit it? Tracks belong to the family that made them. Everyone on the team can listen and play, and only the owner can change or delete. Can I stop my song being shared with the team? A track is shared when it is attached to a team. Move it to the player rather than the team and it leaves the shared library. Can I be on more than one team? Yes. Families with a kid in two programmes, or two kids on different teams, routinely are. How do I leave a team? From team settings. Your own tracks stay yours; you simply stop seeing the shared library. How do I delete a team? Whoever runs the team can delete it in team settings. The shared library goes with it, and each family keeps its own tracks. What is the team anthem? A track for the whole team rather than one player — warmups, running out, between innings. It sits in the shared library for everyone. Can I set the batting order? Yes, there is a lineup you can order, so game day runs top to bottom without hunting for the next player. How do I change the lineup order? Reorder it in the lineup view. The game-day screen follows that order. Can I upload a roster photo instead of typing names? There is a roster photo import that reads the names off a team sheet, which saves a lot of typing at the start of a season. A player on our roster has no song Their family either has not joined or has not made one yet. A coach can pass a free short track to a family to get them started. Can two coaches manage the same team? Yes, more than one adult can run a team. It is worth having a second so game day does not depend on one person’s phone. Every family has their kid’s song on a different phone. A shared team library puts the whole roster in one place. Collecting songs from fifteen families is a group-chat nightmare. Families add their own to the shared library. Nobody has to collect anything. You do not want a roster of children open to anyone with a link. Join requests are approved by a person before anyone sees the library. Typing a twelve-player roster by hand is tedious. A roster photo import reads the names off a team sheet. A parent keeps editing other families’ songs. Tracks belong to the family that made them. Everyone can play; only the owner can change. A player joins halfway through the season. Add them to the roster and send the join link. Nothing else changes. A family left the team and still has access. Remove them from the roster and access ends immediately. Your kid is on two teams in two programmes. A family can belong to more than one team at once. Next season you would have to rebuild everything. Keep the team, update the roster, and returning families are already set up. The batting order changes every week. Reorder the lineup and game day mode follows it. Game day Playback, soundboards, lineups and the bench.
How do I run music at a game? Open game day mode on your phone. It gives you the lineup with each player’s track ready, so you tap once as they walk up. Can I run the whole lineup from my phone? Yes. That is what game day mode is for — one person on the bench, the full roster in order, one tap per batter. Does it work without a signal? No. The app needs a connection to load and play tracks, and ballfields are exactly where signal is worst. If your field is a dead spot, download the tracks beforehand and play them from your phone’s own music app as a backup. What should I do if the field has no reception? Download the tracks before you leave the house. The export bundles a team’s songs in one go, and they will then play from your phone with no connection at all. How do I connect to the PA system? The same way as any phone audio — a cable into the booth’s input, or Bluetooth if their system takes it. Ask whoever runs the booth which they prefer. The sound is quiet through the PA Turn your phone up to full first, then let the booth set their level. A phone at half volume into a PA is the usual cause. There is a delay over Bluetooth Bluetooth adds a lag of its own, which matters when you are trying to hit a moment. A cable removes it. Otherwise start the track a beat early. What is the soundboard? Stadium sounds for the sport — the six you actually hear at a professional venue — on buttons you can hit live between plays. Where do the soundboard sounds come from? They are original audio generated for the app, not recordings taken from anywhere. That keeps them clear to use at your game. Can I add my own sounds to the soundboard? Yes, with the custom team soundboard unlock at $1 one-time. You upload your own sounds and chants and keep them. Can I stop a track partway through? Yes. Playback is under your control, which matters when an at-bat starts sooner than you expected. What happens if I tap the wrong player? Stop it and tap the right one. Nothing is consumed by playing a track, so a mis-tap costs nothing but a moment. Will my phone sleep during the game? Keep the screen awake in your phone settings, or check back between batters. A locked phone is the most common reason a cue is missed. Can someone else run it if I cannot make the game? Anyone approved on the team can open the shared library and run the lineup. It is worth having a second parent set up before you need them. Does playing a track use a credit? No. Credits are only used when a song is generated. Play them as often as you like. Nobody is in the sound booth when your kid comes up. Game day mode runs the whole lineup from a phone on the bench. Someone has to scroll a music app to find the right song mid-inning. The lineup is in batting order with each track ready, one tap per player. The song starts in the wrong place and the good part never lands. The clip editor sets exactly where it starts, nudged in fixed steps to land on the beat. The league caps walk-up music and you keep running over. Cut the clip to just under their limit once and it is right every game after that. The person running the music is away this week. Any approved family on the team can open the shared library and run it. Your field has no cell signal. Download the tracks beforehand — or export the whole team in one bundle — and play them from your phone with no connection. The sound booth wants files in advance, not an app. Export the team’s tracks as a bundle and hand it over on a stick. Bluetooth lag means the music lands a beat late. A cable removes it, and the clip can be started early to compensate if you are stuck with Bluetooth. You want a build-up as your kid walks to the plate. A speed section plays one stretch faster or slower without the pitch going strange. Dead air between plays kills the atmosphere. The soundboard puts six real stadium sounds for that sport on buttons you can hit live. Your team has chants nobody else has. The $1 soundboard unlock lets you upload your own sounds and chants and keep them. You tapped the wrong player and panicked. Stop it and tap the right one. Playing a track costs nothing. Your phone locks mid-game and the next cue is missed. Keeping the screen awake fixes it, and the help desk says so rather than leaving you to work it out at the field. The track is too quiet through the PA. Phone to full first, then let the booth set their level — the usual cause is a phone at half volume. For coaches Running a roster and a shared library.
What do coaches get that parents do not? A view built around the roster rather than one child — set the team up, approve families, order the lineup, and see which players still have no song. How do I set up my team for the season? Create the team, import or enter the roster, share the join link with parents, and order the lineup. Twenty minutes once, and game day runs itself after that. Do parents have to pay for me to use it? A family can join a team and play on a free account. Paying is what lets them make more of their own songs. Can I make songs for the whole roster myself? You can, from your own account and credits. Most coaches set the team up and let families make their own, because a parent writes a better description of their own kid than anyone else will. Can I give a family a free song? Yes, a coach can pass a short free track to a family. It is the most reliable way to get a parent who has not engaged yet over the line. How do I see which players have no music? The roster view shows it. That is the list worth working through in the week before opening day. Can I run the music myself during games? Yes — game day mode, lineup in order, from your phone on the bench. Or hand it to a parent and keep coaching. What if a player joins mid-season? Add them to the roster and send their family the join link. Nothing else has to change. What happens at the end of the season? Keep the team for next year or delete it. Families keep their own tracks either way, so nobody loses their kid’s song. Can I reuse last season’s team? Yes. Keep the team, update the roster, and the families who are returning are already set up. A parent will not stop asking me to change their kid’s song They can change it themselves — the track belongs to their family and they can edit the clip or make another. Point them at their own library. Can I stop a particular song being played? A team’s shared library is yours to curate, and a track can be taken out of it. If something breaks the house rules, tell support. You are a coach, not a DJ, and do not want another job. Set the team up once, then families make their own songs and any parent can run the music. Half the roster has no music by opening day. The roster view shows exactly who is missing one, so you can chase the right families. One family will not engage and their kid walks up in silence. A coach can pass a free short track to a family to get them started. You want parents involved without handing them admin over the team. Families manage their own players and tracks; the team stays yours to run. Everything depends on one person’s phone. More than one adult can run a team, and any approved family can run game day. A parent keeps asking you to change their kid’s song. They can change it themselves — the track is theirs, in their library. Advisor & Assistant Song suggestions and the conversational assistant.
What is Music Advisor? A walk-up DJ. Name a player and it suggests directions matched to their sport, number and style, which you can then turn into a track. Do suggestions cost a credit? No. Asking for suggestions is free. A credit is only used when you generate an actual song. I do not know what genre to pick That is exactly what Music Advisor is for. Give it the player and it will offer directions rather than leaving you staring at an empty box. What is the Assistant? A conversational way to use the app. Tell it what you want in plain language and it adds players, makes tracks and reports your credit balance, without forms. What can I ask the Assistant to do? Add a player, make a song, check how many generations you have left. If it cannot do something it will say so rather than guess. Will the Assistant spend my credits without asking? Generating a song uses a credit, so be clear when you are asking it to actually make one rather than talk about it. Referrals Sharing the app and earning credits.
How do referrals work? You get a personal link. When a family joins through it, you earn credits. Badges and levels track how many you have brought across. Where do I find my referral link? On the Hype Ambassador page while signed in. It carries your account id so joins are attributed to you. My friend joined but I got no credit They need to arrive through your link. If they typed the address directly it cannot be attributed — tell support who joined and when and we will look. Does my friend get anything? They start on the same free first song everyone gets. The referral reward is for you. Is there a limit on referrals? Share it with your team. If you are planning something larger than a roster, talk to us first rather than after. What are the badges and levels? A record of how many families you have brought in. They are a bit of fun on top of the credits, not a separate currency. You want your team on it but will not nag people. A referral link earns you credits when families join, so sharing is worth something. Plans & billing Upgrades, cancelling, receipts and refunds.
What do the plans cost? Free is one player profile. Basic is $2.99 a month for unlimited players, five saved tracks and five generations a month. Premium is $9.99 a month for unlimited tracks and twenty generations. What is the difference between Basic and Premium? Both give unlimited player profiles. Basic caps you at five saved tracks and five generations a month; Premium removes the track cap and gives twenty generations. Which plan should I pick? One kid, one song a season: free or a credit pack. Two or three kids: Basic. A coach, or a family making songs most weeks: Premium. How do I upgrade? From the Membership page. The new allowance applies from the moment the plan starts. How do I cancel my subscription? Open the Membership page and press Cancel Subscription at the top, next to your current plan. You keep the whole period you have already paid for, and your tracks stay yours and stay downloadable. What happens to my tracks if I cancel? Your tracks stay yours and you can still download them. What changes is how many new ones you can make. Is there a contract? No. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time. Do you offer refunds? Tell support what happened. Failed generations return the credit automatically; anything beyond that we look at case by case rather than hiding behind a blanket policy. Where are my receipts? Payments go through our payment processor and receipts are emailed on each charge. If one has not arrived, contact support. How do I update my card? Through the billing portal linked from your membership. We never see or store your card number ourselves. I was charged twice Send support the dates and amounts. A duplicate charge gets refunded — that is not a judgement call. Can I pay yearly? Plans are monthly today. If you want a season or a year up front for a club, talk to support. Do you have team or club pricing? Nothing packaged yet. If you are buying for a whole club, email support and we will work something out properly. What is the $1 charge on my statement? That is the custom team soundboard — a one-time unlock to upload your own team sounds and chants. My payment failed Check the card with your bank first, since most declines happen there. Then retry from the Membership page. Do credit packs renew automatically? No. Packs are one-time purchases. Only the monthly plans renew. A custom song from a producer costs hundreds of dollars. A credit pack is $2.99 for three songs, and the first one is free. You have three kids in sport and cannot buy three of anything. Paid plans include unlimited player profiles, so the cost does not multiply by child. You only need one song a season and do not want a subscription. One-time credit packs exist precisely for that, valid a year from purchase. You got burned by an app that would not let you cancel. Monthly plans cancel at any time, and you keep the period you have paid for. You do not want to hand card details to a small app. Payments run through a payment processor. Card numbers never reach our servers. You want to try it before committing anything. A free account and a free first song, no card required. A failed generation would feel like money thrown away. Failed generations return the credit automatically. Privacy & safety Who can see a player, and your family's data.
Who can see my child’s profile? You, any co-parent you add, and the team you share it with. Nobody else, and no part of it is public. Is my child’s name on the public internet? No. Profile, library and team pages carry a noindex directive and are left out of the sitemap, so they do not appear in search results. Can I share a song publicly? There are no public player pages. Download the track and share that file yourself if you want to — that keeps the decision in your hands rather than ours. Did you used to have public player pages? Yes, and they were removed deliberately. Profiles are private by default and there is no public sharing link any more. What data do you hold about my child? What you entered — a name or nickname, sport, optional jersey number, optional photo and description — plus the tracks made from it. The privacy policy lists it in full. How do I get a copy of my data? Ask through Support and choose the information option. We send what we hold. How do I get my data deleted? Delete the player or the whole account in the app, or ask through Support. Deletion is real, not a hidden flag. Is this COPPA compliant? The account holder is a parent or coach, not a child. Children do not sign in, and profiles are private by default. The privacy policy sets out how we handle children’s information. Can my child have their own login? No. Accounts are for adults, which is deliberate — it keeps a responsible adult on every profile. I do not want my kid’s photo in the app Do not add one. It is optional, and the app works exactly the same without it. Can I block someone from seeing my player? Remove them from the team, or remove the player from the team library. If someone is behaving badly, tell support — access can be blocked at our end. Is my payment information safe? Card details go to our payment processor and never reach our servers. We cannot see your card number. Do you sell my information? No. The privacy policy says what is collected and why, and selling family data is not part of it. Who can see our team roster? Approved members of that team. Join requests are approved by a person precisely so a roster of children is not open to anyone holding a link. You do not want your child findable in a search engine. Profile, library and team pages are noindexed and left out of the sitemap. Other apps make a public page for your child by default. There are no public player pages here. Profiles are private by default. You do not want a photo of your kid in another company’s system. The photo is optional and the app works identically without one. You want to know exactly what is held about your family. Ask through Support for a copy, or read the privacy policy, which lists it. You want to be able to leave and take everything with you. Download your tracks, then delete the player or the whole account. Deletion is real. You are worried a child could sign themselves up. Accounts are for adults. Children do not sign in, so there is a responsible adult on every profile. Someone on the team is behaving badly. Remove them from the roster, and tell support — access can be blocked at our end. Song content rules What gets written, and what gets refused.
What will the app not write? Anything that would be wrong in a song about a child — profanity, sexual content, drugs, violence, slurs, and anything demeaning about another player or team. The house rules set it out in full. Can I get explicit lyrics? No. Every song is written for a youth athlete and filtered for that audience, whatever the genre. Can I trash-talk the other team? Confidence yes, naming and belittling someone else no. “Nobody gets past him” is fine; going after a named opponent is not. My request was refused Something in it crossed the house rules. Reword it and try again — a refusal is about the words, not your account. Does a refusal cost me a credit? A refused request should not consume a generation. If one was taken, tell support and we will restore it. Can the song mention a brand or another team? Your own team name is fine. Other people’s trademarks are best left out, because that is their property rather than yours to put in a song. Can I appeal a refusal? Yes — contact support with what you were trying to make. If the filter was wrong we would rather know. Can I use my kid’s nickname if it is a bit cheeky? Usually, as long as it is not a slur or something that would embarrass them in front of a crowd. Remember the whole field hears it. Who decides what crosses the line? The house rules, applied the same way for everyone. They are linked at the bottom of every page so there are no surprises. A song on our team library is inappropriate Tell support. We would rather hear about it early than have a parent in the stands hear it first. Your league will not let you play copyrighted music over the PA. The music is original and made for you, so there is no third-party recording to clear. A venue asked who owns the track you want to play. It was generated for you through the app rather than licensed from a rights holder. You want crowd and stadium sounds without lifting a recording from somewhere. The soundboard sounds are original audio generated for the app, not sampled from broadcasts. A parent complained about song content last season. House rules apply to every song the same way, and anything that breaks them can be reported and dealt with. You want confidence in the lyrics without putting down the other team. Songs can be as bold as you like about your own player; they will not name and belittle an opponent. Troubleshooting When something will not play, load or send.
The song will not play Check your phone is not on silent, then turn the volume up, then reload the page. Those three fix almost every case. There is no sound on iPhone Check the physical mute switch on the side of the phone — it silences browser audio, and it is the single most common cause. Audio stops when I lock my phone Keep the screen on while you are running game day. A locked phone can suspend browser audio. The page will not load Reload, then try a different network. If it loads on cellular but not the field wifi, it is their network rather than the app. The app looks broken or unstyled A hard refresh usually clears it — that is a stale cached file rather than your account. I am stuck on a loading spinner Reload once. If it persists, sign out and back in, and tell support which page it was. My library looks empty Check you are signed in with the right account — an email sign-up and a Google sign-in on different addresses are two accounts. A track disappeared Check whether it was moved to another player or a team. If it is genuinely gone, contact support quickly. Send is not working Try again in a moment, then reload. If it keeps failing, tell support what you were sending and from which page. The download gives me a file I cannot open It is a standard audio file. On a phone, save it to Files or your music app rather than opening it in the browser tab. Upload keeps failing Check the file size and your connection. If it fails on wifi, try cellular — some venue networks block uploads. Something is wrong and none of this helps Use Support and say what you did, what you expected, and what happened. You can reach it signed out as well, since “I cannot sign in” is a normal reason to need help. You cannot sign in and the only support is inside the app. Support is reachable signed out, because “I cannot sign in” is a normal reason to need it. You do not know whether a problem is you or the app. This help desk lists the actual causes — iPhone mute switch, locked screen, venue wifi — rather than telling you to try again. You deleted something by accident. Contact support quickly. We cannot promise recovery, but the sooner you ask the better. You have two accounts and half your library is missing. An email sign-up and a Google sign-in on different addresses are two accounts; support can merge them. You want an answer at 10pm the night before a game. The help desk is searchable and always up; a person picks up anything it does not cover.
